I'm Simon, a developer based in Brisbane, Australia. I build micro-SaaS products that solve the "last mile" problem between AI-generated content and professional output.
The Thesis
AI generates content easily. Turning that content into professional, print-ready, brand-compliant artifacts is still hard. That gap is where I build.
"AI output → brand-safe, workflow-ready artifact"
Products like DeckEngine and TriFold PDF sit downstream from Claude and ChatGPT, handling the deterministic formatting work that AI tools do poorly.
Background
Before going solo, I spent 20+ years in enterprise IT—primarily in Queensland Government and healthcare. Program management, governance, technical architecture, and a lot of recovering troubled projects.
Selected highlights:
- Recovered a $5.2M healthcare system from RED to GREEN, delivering six clinical labs live with zero downtime
- Led implementations affecting 17,000 staff and 28,000 clients across aged care and disability services
- Managed state-wide system upgrades for Queensland Health (PACS, Vaccine Management, iPharmacy)
- PRINCE2 and MSP Practitioner certified
- Bachelor of IT (Software Engineering), Griffith University
Organisations include Children's Health Queensland, Metro North Health, UnitingCare Queensland, Gold Coast Health, and Queensland Treasury.
Now I apply that systematic thinking to building software products. Small, focused tools that do one thing well. Ship fast, validate, iterate or kill.
Open Source
I also maintain tools that make Claude Code more useful:
- teax — Gitea CLI extension for issue management, CI/CD, and bulk operations
- ha-cli — Home Assistant CLI for states, logs, templates, and service calls
These aren't products—they're infrastructure. Built to solve my own problems, shared in case they solve yours.
